PRACTICAL RENTAL GUIDE

How search profiles and alerts help your rental search

You do not have to enter the same preferences repeatedly. A search profile stores a place and maximum monthly rent so you can follow matching listings with more focus. A match is a useful starting point, not a promise of a home.

Choose your email rhythm: direct or daily

The “direct” preference is not a promise of an instant email for every home: matching homes are collected for ten minutes, with at least two hours between bundles and no more than three bundles per Amsterdam calendar day. Each bundle contains at most nine homes.

With “daily”, pending daily matches become eligible from 09:00 Amsterdam time. Matches found after that day’s 09:00 cut-off are eligible the following day. Processing and delivery can take longer; the shared sending limits still apply. You can change the preference per search profile. Your dashboard remains available independently of email.

One place and one maximum rent per profile

Choose the place you want to search and the maximum rent for that profile. Want to search another place too? Create a separate profile. This lets you set different budgets and later pause or adjust one search. Check the other conditions on each listing as well as the monthly rent.

A match is a starting point

A match means an available home fits the saved search criteria. It does not mean you meet every provider requirement or have a viewing reserved. Open the property page and check the current details before deciding what to do.

Check your dashboard too

Your dashboard keeps your matches and search profiles together. An email can draw your attention to a home, but its status may change afterwards. If in doubt, check your profile settings and the current listing. Not receiving an email does not by itself prove that no match exists.

Alerts and automatic responses are different

An alert helps you view a listing; it does not itself submit an application for you. Responding requires Premium. You deliberately enable automatic responses for each profile and give the requested consent. First check your contact details and the information you want to share.

Update preferences when circumstances change

Edit a profile when you want another place or maximum rent. Pause a profile you no longer need. If your moving plans or household circumstances change, check your tenant profile too so that responses do not rely on outdated information.

Start small and stay in control

Start with the place you most want to live. Add only searches you actually want to follow. A free account and search profiles let you organise your search first; choose Premium when you want to respond. Alerts and automatic responses still depend on current availability and the provider’s assessment.
